Three Miracles on One Night!

By Elder Dorai

Of course, there is the miracle of Jesus Christ walking on water. It was evening. Jesus had gone to the mountain by Himself. The disciples set out on the Sea of Galilee towards Capernaum. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough (v18). John records, "When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened," (John 6:19).

Jesus walked on the water to rescue them. One Gospel writer noted that he appeared to pass by them (Mark 6:48). Jesus was certainly walking faster than the boat could traverse, and that too, on a stormy sea!
When he got into the boat the wind died and the sea became calm again (Mark 6:51). The disciples were amazed (Mark 6:51) and they worshiped him, saying,"Truly you are the Son of God," (Matthew 14:33). Here it is again: that they may believe that He is the Son of God!

Walking on water is a miracle. There are two others in this episode.
The storm ceased the moment he climbed into the boat. Thirdly, they got translated to the other shore : "immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading, " (John 6:21). These are supernatural phenomenon. When Jesus is with us, we ourselves will experience supernatural signs.

Now that is quite a bit to process. We want to see before we believe. There is another viewpoint: Believe He is the Son of God and you will see!

Blessings,
