I was very much attracted to the sub topic of Hebrews 2 onwards in the NLT version of the Bible.
It says, “Jesus, the Man.”
Now, doesn’t that just sum the whole Gospel up and everything the Bible stands for? There are many adjectives that the Bible uses to describe who God is. Yes, we know that these words cannot fully describe God because we cannot limit God. But I think sometimes, human understanding is all we have.
But I would want us to focus on one particular description of God, and that is that God is our helper. Most of us know that God is our helper. He helps us in our time of need.
But have any of you sometime feel like nobody will ever understand your pain? I don’t know about you, but there are many times where I’ve felt that I have to go through this struggle alone because nobody would ever understand. And to be honest, sometimes in my human-ness, I wonder if God even understands my pain and struggle.
Then I came across Hebrews 2v18 during my daily Bible reading.
“Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested.” – Hebrews 2v18.
Friends, that is a promise that God gave to us. What gives God the right to help us in our pain? Because He himself has been through it. More than that, God overcame them. We always hear that you can’t help someone, unless you yourself have been through it. Well, if you’re the kind that believes in that statement, then I’m here to present to you Jesus. The only One that has endured all kinds of sufferings and trails that life has to offer (Even death, and He also overcame it by the way).
