Fight the Good Fight of Faith

1 Timothy 6:11-12
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Jesus, our great and mighty king will return one day to call his faithful servants home. He will restore all that is wrong with the world and make all right once again. Every sin will be judged and every wrong will be paid for by the one who sinned against God or the one who covered that sin with his death on the cross. All things will be restored on that day. No more tears, no more pain.

Until that day comes, you who have accepted the gracious gift of God’s salvation through Jesus must continue to fight the good fight. You must flee from the sinful desires of your human nature and pursue the mind of Christ that was given to you through the Holy Spirit. Pursue a pure and truthful understanding of scripture. Do not submit yourself to any teaching that does not find the cross of Jesus as sufficient for your salvation. Embrace the lifestyle of godliness that can only come through an intimate relationship with Jesus.
You must trust in nothing other than Jesus to sustain you through today, to redeem you from the wrath of God and to provide for your every need. Only Jesus can give you hope. Do not pursue earthly riches at the expense of your eternal treasure in heaven. Do not lean on man made gods and the irrelevant babble of false teachers for your hope. Hope only in the person of Jesus who raised you out of death and into his glorious light. God alone sustains you. Praise him for his gracious love in the midst of your friends and family.

Jesus alone is the means to salvation. Jesus alone sustains you and Jesus alone enables you to live a life of godliness. Seek him daily in prayer and in the Word. Flee from unbiblical teaching. Hope only in him and fight the good fight of the faith.
