Speaker: Pastor Anand
Ten Commandment Series

The Ten Commandments
Set Free to Live Free

Exodus 20: 1-2
- Started with: I AM
- Emphasise Himself as the living God.
- He set the 10 Commandments to be a guideline.

Background
- Israel in bondage of slavery
- He set them free and bought them
- God sent the 10 plagues
- To show His people His prevalence

Reason for the Law
- Reveal His Glory and Holiness
- Reveal man's sinfulness
- Mark Israel as his as his chosen
- Give His people a standard for Godly living
- Prepare Israel for the coming of Jesus

"The Law condemned and offered no hope, Jesus came to fulfil the Law and set us free from it's bondage"

We live in the modern day, no longer in the New Testament, however, God has stayed the same.

Relevance of the Law today.
-Lawlessness is rebellion against God
-Righteousness- a condition characteristic of faith. Lawlessness  the opposite- unbelief.

1st commandment:-
ONLY ONE LIVING GOD
Shows that God set us free.
Slaves of Sin cannot escape alone.
He calls us into relationship with him.

No other God
There is no god that would give his life for His people.
He gives freedom, peace, answers prayer, offers love and relationship.
