Matthew 11:28 NIV
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and
I will give you rest.”
As I have been conversing with my friends throughout the week due
to my internship, I have heard them mention about their packed schedule and say
numerous times that rest is for the weak. Something about that statement stirred
within me. So I took some time to ask God why I feel this way.
After spending time with God, God revealed to me that it is how I
see rest that matters. As I thought further and asked my friends deeper on what
they did during their rest time, I found out that most of them spent their time
doing nothing and ended up feeling even more tired compared to not resting.
I felt that God gave me this verse (Matthew 11: 28) as a reminder of why rest is
made. In the end, God is above all including my rest time and only in Him that
I can find the rest that I need when I am weary and burdened. My every action
should be honoring God including the things that I do during my rest time.
