Today we as Christians tend to take advantage of God. We tell ourselves that we love God and exalt Him, but do we actually have a personal relationship with Him?
A wise man once told me that there are 4 types of Christians in the modern world. The first, sins but has a good relationship with God. The second, does good in the world but doesn't have a relationship with God. Next, the third who does not sin, serves God, but doesn't have a relationship with Him. Lastly, the fourth, a Christian who sins, doesn't serve God and doesn't have a relationship with Him at all. In Psalms 1:1-3, God calls us to be fruitful in Him. To seek Him daily, obey Him, read His word and most importantly establish a personal relationship with Him.
Ephesians 3:19 - And to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
The theme, maturity in Christ was chosen specifically for YC camp 2013 because we personally believe that YCians have to come out from their lukewarm conditions and to seek God on a personal and higher level. This year's YC camp would challenge the participants to establish a new bond with God. A bond so powerful, that can only be built through the in depth knowledge of God and the love for God. Through this, YC would be able to grow not just physically but spiritually in God.
We need to rise so that we may move beyond the elementary teachings of Christ and be taken forward into maturity. We need to rise by abiding in the love of Christ and the knowledge of His word that we may mature in Him for " He is the way, the truth and the life. " We need to dwell in the love of God so that His word will mould us and shape us according to His word. We need to press on to know the fullness of God's love for us as we yearn to grow deeper and mature in Him.
